The other day, while I was out, there was a little girl, about six, carrying a sleeping newborn around, and a plastic jug, begging for money. It is an incredibly pathetic sight, and worse, when I was told that many people often bear children to send them begging (children bring home more money than their working fathers). Even more heinous, people rent their babies out to beggars!!! And when children don't bring enough money home (or if they don't sell enough lottery tickets while their parents gamble with friends throughout the day), they come home to a beating. So what do you do? Well, feel a lot of pain inside, and then help out the churches and such shelters where you know your charitable donations will go to food and shelter rather than tobacco and alcohol. Oi. It's really disgusting the way it is here. I have trouble forgetting such vivid images.
